Hello.
I am exploring the Technology Node Editor.
Of what use is the Node Map? Presumably a network map can be created. To what end?
How will the information be displayed elsewhere in Essential Viewer?
Regards,
John.

Hi John,

You can do couple of things:
1) For each of the nodes, you can define the node detail, the technology stack, type and site. You can then associate the nodes with the application deployments in the application editor
2) The connections is just a way of visualising technology node dependencies, although we would suggest that you should derive that from the logical dependencies (e.g. the application implementations, databases, etc and how they integrate), however, if you don't have that data then this is another way to map them as a short term fix ("I know this server depends on that one for the finance systems").

We have one client who uses the connections to show permitted connections between server, and they compare the connections in Essential to actual connections for audit purposes.

The Technology Node summary picks up these dependencies, or you could use the view builder to create a view

The view builder is here https://github.com/essentialproject/ess ... uilder-mcp

Hope that helps

John
